Applications
Liquid calcium chloride is a versatile calcium source and firming agent used across food and beverage production:
- Cheese making — a calcium source that restores coagulation strength to pasteurized milk, improving curd set and yield.
- Pickle and vegetable processing — a firming agent that helps fruits and vegetables (pickles, canned tomatoes, and other produce) hold texture through processing and storage.
- Post-harvest produce treatment — helps maintain firmness and freshness in fresh produce.
- Brewing — a water treatment mineral used to adjust brewing water chemistry.
- Beverage mineralization — adds calcium content to bottled water and other beverage formulations.
- Brine chilling — lowers the freezing point of process water for rapid chilling of poultry, produce, and other food products.
